DALLAS, TX. (3/10/02) -- The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team upset the University of Texas/Dallas 6-1 during Sunday afternoon's contest.
In singles action,
Francisco Velazquez,
Van Homer Pangilinan,
Damon Dennin,
Bob Cappelli and Pat Mulvaney were all successful against the Comets. The lone loss came at the #1 slot as Shawn Farrrokh dropped to Texas foe, Kevin Duiten, in a close three-set match, 6-4, 0-6, 3-6.
In doubles action, SJU won every match, sweeping the Green and Orange 3-0.
The Hawks, now 3-5, continue on the road where they will face Southern Methodist University, Wednesday, March 13. The time of the match has yet to be determined.
