BALTIMORE, MD (3/18/04) -- The SJU men's tennis team snapped a four-game losing streak in a 7-0 blanking at Loyola (Md.) on Thursday afternoon in Baltimore. All but one singles match was decided in straight sets as Saint Joseph's improves to 4-6 on the season.

Francisco Velazquez, the winningest player in SJU history, opened with a 6-3, 6-1 win at #1 singles. Sophomore
Jimmy Holland followed with a 7-6 (3), 6-2 victory at #2, while classmate
Chris Spencer was a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #3.
Sophomore
A.J. Garabedian won 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 at #4 singles and junior
Van Homer Pangilinan was victorious, 6-1, 6-3 at #5 singles. Sophomore
Antonio Aniello wrapped things up with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #6.
In doubles action, Velazquez and Pangilinan won 8-4 at #1 and Holland-Garabedian earned a 8-0 shutout win at #2. Spencer and Aniello were 8-6 winners at #3.
SJU hosts Duquesne and St. Bonaventure on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
