WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team kicked off its spring season by taking part in the 2009 Army Invitational. The Hawks acquitted themselves well, earning a share of first place in the second singles flight as well as in the first and third doubles flights. SJU was one of four teams at the tournament, taking on teams from Marist and Monmouth as well as the hosts, Army.

Senior Pat Adams was 2-1 in the second flight, tying with players from Army and Marist. In doubles play, the Hawks received solid play from senior Phil Bayliss and junior Michael Stauble on their way to tying with Marist for first place in the top flight. In the third flight, three Hawks combined for a 2-1 record and a first-place tie with Army.

SJU returns to the court on Saturday for a dual match at Penn State.
