Ronald Roberts, Jr., Signs with Toronto Raptors

TORONTO, ONTARIO - Former Saint Joseph's standout Ronald Roberts, Jr., has signed a multi-year contract with the Toronto Raptors, as announced today by the team.

Roberts recently played with the Raptors in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas where he averaged 10.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 23.5 minutes in four games. The 6-8 forward posted a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) in the opener on July 10 against Sacramento.

After graduation from SJU in May 2014, Roberts spent the 2014-15 season with a combination of three teams – the Delaware 87ers (NBA D-League), Santa Cruz Warriors (NBA D-League) and San Miguel Beermen (Philippines Basketball Association).

One of the most exciting players in Saint Joseph's history, Roberts averaged a career-best 14.4 points while grabbing 7.4 rebounds per game in helping the Hawks to the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship. He shot 60.0 percent from the field and finished his career ranked second on the all-time list for career field goal percentage (57.0). Roberts was chosen to the 2014 All-A-10 Third Team and All-Championship Team, along with the All-Big 5 Second Team. He finished his career with 1,398 points and 861 rebounds in his four years.
