Erin Brooks begins her sixth season at the helm of the Saint Joseph's softball program in 2022-23.

Named the eighth head coach in team history in November of 2017, Brooks came to Hawk Hill with a decade of head coaching experience.

In her first season, Brooks guided the Hawks to a 24-25 season with sophomores Molly Kapala and Sarah Ostaszewski capturing Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors and Kirstin Cox earning All-Rookie Team accolades. SJU excelled in the classroom as well with Kapala and juniors Taryn Grober and Stacey Mayer earning A-10 All-Academic Team recognition.

In 2019, Brooks led the Hawks to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship and finished with a 28-25 record. Individually, Kapala and Ostaszewski earned All-Conference accolades again, with freshman Amanda Herr earning All-Rookie Team honors. Additionally, SJU continued to be recognized for their talents as students with Cox, Kapala and Grober earning All-Academic Team honors.

Coaching through a shortened season, Brooks helped meld a lineup of veterans and newcomers to a competitive start of the season that featured multiple postseason teams, including No. 4 Arizona, before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Brooks guided the Hawks to their first even A-10 divisional title, as Saint Joseph's captured the North Division title and hosted the A-10 Championship for the first time in program history. Additionally, five Hawks earned A-10 postseason honors, while four earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region accolades.

Guiding Saint Joseph's to the Atlantic 10 postseason again in 2022, Brooks additionally guided five Hawks to postseason honors.

Taking over as head coach at Haverford in 2014, Brooks established the Fords as one of the top programs in the Centennial Conference posting a 60-53-1 overall record over three seasons and leading the Fords to their first NCAA Division III Super Regional appearance and regional title in 2016. Under her instruction, 14 student-athletes garnered All-Centennial Conference honors, including six First Team honorees, while 13 Fords earned All-Academic Centennial Conference distinctions.

Prior to her tenure at Haverford, Brooks served as head coach at Pacific Lutheran for the 2013-14 season. Under her guidance, four student-athletes earned All-Northwest Conference First Team honors, with two also garnering All-West Region accolades.

Brooks began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at John Carroll in 2006-07 before being promoted to head coach for the start of the 2007-08 season. Managing the Blue Streak for six seasons, she led the program to NCAA Division III Tournament berths in 2012 and 2013, a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament titles (2010, 2012) and a 154-89 overall record, including a 74-32 mark in conference games.

In addition to coaching, Brooks has also worked as a business intelligence engineer and data analyst for Major League Baseball Advanced Media since 2003.

A standout on the field and in the classroom, Brooks earned 2001 NFCA Division III Second Team All-America honors as a sophomore at Cabrini before transferring to Fordham and earning a Verizon Academic All-America selection in 2003 and 2004, and being selected 2004 Hobbs Family Award as the Fordham’s outstanding female athlete. A 2004 summa cum laude graduate with a bachelor's degree in management of communications and information systems, Brooks was inducted into the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015.
