One of the most famous mascots in college sports, the Saint Joseph’s Hawk has flapped its wings for over 60 seasons. Best known for staying in constant motion by flapping its wings throughout every basketball game, The Hawk is also available for appearances such as community events, corporate gatherings, school assemblies, fundraisers, social events and more
Hawk Appearance Guidelines & Fees
This form is required when requesting to have The Hawk appear at your upcoming event.
- Requests should be submitted via this form a minimum of three weeks and maximum of four months in advance of the appearance date
- Completion of this form does not guarantee an appearance
- Payment must be received in advance of the event or appearance
- A secure area must be provided where The Hawk can change, store their belongings, and take breaks, if needed
- If applicable, secure parking must be provided. Any parking fee must be covered by the requesting organization.
- Wedding appearances should be for early evening events such as the cocktail hour or the start of the reception.
- The Hawk costume is not available for rental
As a reminder, The Hawk mascots are SJU students, and availability for outside appearances is subject to the students’ academic, athletic, and extracurricular schedules. Please be advised, availability for appearances will be limited between November and March while the Hawk basketball teams are in season.
All appearances are to be approved and coordinated through the Department of Athletics following the completion of this form. Please do not contact students directly to schedule an appearance.
Saint Joseph's University Organizations:
- Appearance fee: $50 per hour
- Limited to 1-hour appearances only
- If the appearance is at an off-campus location, the requesting organization is responsible for costs associated with transportation to and from the event
Non-Saint Joseph's University Organizations:
- Fee for non-profit organizations: $100 per hour
- Fee for all other organizations or events: $200 per hour
- Appearance must be no more than 2-hours in length
- All appearance fees are non-refundable. A link for payment will be sent once appearance is confirmed.
By submitting this form, you agree to the terms and guidelines outlined above. Once submitted, a representative of Saint Joseph's Athletics will be in touch regarding your request. Please allow a minimum of 10 (ten) business days for a response to your request. Each request will be carefully considered and confirmed based on the information provided in the form, The Hawk's availability, and team policies. Saint Joseph's Athletics reserves the right to deny any request at its discretion. Should a request be approved additional payment instructions will be provided.
