The Saint Joseph's Cheerleading Team is a physically challenging program with a wide range of opportunities for our student-athletes. The program consists of athletes with various backgrounds in school cheer, all-star cheer, gymnastics and dance. We provide rigorous training and conditioning for all of our athletes. Our purpose is twofold. To promote school spirit with the student body and the Hawk fans at Men's and Women's Basketball Games, and to represent the University at the national competitive level. We travel with the basketball teams to the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament and the NCAA Tournament in addition to select other tournaments. St. Joe's Cheer competes at the NCA Collegiate National Championship each April and the Hawks captured their first national title in the Division I All-Girl Intermediate Division in 2019.

Recruitment
The St. Joe's Cheerleading 2026-2027 tryouts will be by invitation only. All prospective athletes should start by filling out the Cheerleader Interest Form to receive more information about the program and next steps in the recruiting process. The form is open to high school juniors and seniors as well as current St. Joe's students and college transfers. By filling out this form, you will be first to know of upcoming recruit events! Freshmen and Sophomores we still encourage you to attend recruitment events as well!
All requirements to qualify for tryouts must be met by April 1, 2026 however tryouts spots are limited therefore qualifications can be submitted prior to this date to secure a spot. All athletes who make it past this preliminary round will receive their formal invite no later than April 6, 2026.Â
