Saint Joseph's University Department of Athletics, a NCAA Division I member organization, and Sparta Science, a Silicon Valley company that applies data and technology to the pursuit of human resilience, today announced a partnership making Sparta Science a Saint Joseph's Hawks partner in support of superior student-athlete performance, injury prevention, elite training methods, and precision rehabilitation.

The Saint Joseph's Athletics High Performance and Integrated Healthcare Team, will utilize the proprietary Sparta Science technology as part of their holistic and proactive approach to their student-athlete centered healthcare model with every varsity athletic team. Based on a few simple tests, the Sparta Science system creates a personalized Movement Signature and compares the profile to millions of data points collected from more than 50,000 professional and collegiate athletes to predict injury risk in a matter of seconds. With Sparta, the Hawks' High Performance and Integrated Health Team will now be able to identify players' musculoskeletal strengths and weaknesses, create personalized workouts, monitor movement health, athlete fatigue levels, player readiness,  and reduce injury risks with preventive exercise programs -- all through the suite of Sparta Scans and the company's verified scientific data assessment software.

"We're thrilled to partner with the entire Saint Joseph's University Athletics Department and their innovative High Performance Team in order to bring their student-athletes more information about their performance, training and overall musculoskeletal health," said Phil Wagner, M.D., CEO and founder of Sparta Science. "Our goal is to empower the Hawks with the knowledge and information to make data-driven, informed decisions that will prevent injuries, improve recovery and help them win."

"Working with Sparta Science to bring their cutting edge technology to campus for our student-athletes will be a game-changer," said Eric Laudano, D.A.T., M.H.S., A.T.C., Senior Associate Athletics Director for High Performance for Saint Joseph's Athletics.
