NETTERS DROP 4-3 DECISION TO LOYOLA

PHILADELPHIA (10/09/03) -- SJU captured the doubles point for the first time all season but it wasn't enough to propel the Hawks to victory on the Finnesey Courts on Thursday afternoon. Loyola (Md.) won four singles matches to earn a close 4-3 win over Saint Joseph's.

The doubles teams of senior Pilar Glodzik and sophomore Nicole Morrison (8-4 at #1) and freshmen Marisa Donelson and Alisa Van Meter (8-6 at #3) were both victorious giving Al Laveson's squad the doubles point to kick off the match.

In singles, Glodzik earned a win at first singles (6-4, 7-5) and freshman Erika Guers was a 6-1, 6-2 victor at sixth singles. But it was all the Hawks could muster in falling to 2-6 on the season. Loyola improves to 2-0 on the fall.
