The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell at Delaware Thursday evening as the Fightin' Blue Hens downed the Hawks 7-0.
Delaware opened the competition winning the doubles point as it swept all three matches.
In singles action, the Fightin' Blue Hens overwhelmed the Hawks, with Saint Joseph's junior Erika Guers being the lone SJU player to win a set. Guers fell at the No. 2 spot 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 to Amanda Campbell. At No. 1 singles, Saint Joseph's Stephania Velazquez fell in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 to Susan Pollack
With the loss, Saint Joseph's falls to 5-2 on the season. The Hawks return to action Tuesday, September 29, when they host La Salle at 3 p.m.
