The Saint Joseph's men's tennis squad lost its first dual match of the season on Tuesday, falling by a 7-0 score to Delaware. Freshman Alex Veronis and Tommy Gates made their dual match debuts for the Hawks in the contest.
Sophomore Jeff Kessler played his first career match in the top flight, falling in straight sets to Austin Longacre. He also teamed with partner Peter Cognetti in the top doubles flight, where the pair fell to Longacre and Gokay Celik, 8-4.
The Hawks return to action in Norfolk, Va., on Friday, October 23 at the ITA Regionals.
