WASHINGTON, D.C. -
The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team continued with its strong Spring schedule this Saturday at George Washington. The Hawks had a solid effort, but fell to the host Colonials, 6-1.
George Washington claimed the doubles point, despite a strong fight from the SJU duo of Jhennifer Kedzierski and Maggie Mullaney. The Hawk team claimed four points before falling 8-4.
In singles play, Kedzierski dropped the first set to Jacqueline Cobra at No. 1 singles, but fought back to force a close-contest in the second set. Unfortunately for SJU, Kedzierski fell 7-5.
Mullaney picked up the Hawks' point with a 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 super tie breaker over Dorota Lysienia. However the Colonials were straight-set winners in the remaining matches to claim the final four points and the match.
Saint Joseph's returns to action this week in Orlando as the Hawks begin their Spring Break slate. They open play against Creighton on Wednesday.
