Results

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team routed crosstown rival La Salle, 7-0, in a make-up match on Monday afternoon.

The teams were originally scheduled to play on February 6, but massive snowstorms in the Mid-Atlantic Region led to a postponement.

Seniors Michael Stauble and Matt Prusack and freshmen Alex Veronis and Tommy Gates were all victorious in both singles and doubles play on Monday. Stauble and Prusack defeated George Gennaoui and Jon Maula, 8-5, at number-one doubles, while Veronis and Gates took down Christian Harvey and Trevor Donovan in the third flight, 8-2.

Stauble was a winner at first singles, beating Gennaoui, 7-5, 6-1. Veronis took his second flight match over Harvey, 6-0, 6-0. Prusack won his third flight tilt, 6-3, 6-1, over Maula, while Gates dropped Fernando Tovia in a supertiebreaker, taking the match, 5-7, 6-3, 10-7.

Both the Hawks and Explorers will head to Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa., for the Atlantic 10 Championship beginning Friday, April 16.
