The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team lost at George Washington on Tuesday, falling by a 7-0 score. Tommy Gates posted SJU's top performance, stretching his third-flight singles match to a supertiebreaker.
Gates dropped the first set, 6-2, before winning the second, 6-3. Unfortunately for the Hawks, Erik Hannah took the tiebreak by a 10-6 score to win the match.
The Hawks will look to bounce back on Thursday afternoon with a 3:00 p.m. match against Lafayette at the SJU Tennis Complex.
