Men's Tennis Takes Down Drexel, 4-3

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team bounced back with a 4-3 win over crosstown rival Drexel on Thursday. Jeff Kessler was a winner in both singles and doubles play on the afternoon.

Kessler teamed with Dan Barrus for an 8-3 win at number-two doubles, while Max Montague and Jose Sierra were 8-1 winners in the first flight to secure the doubles point for SJU.

Kessler, Alex Veronis, and Pierre Brondeau were straight-sets singles winners; the three points put the Hawks over the top and gave the victory to the Crimson and Gray.

Veronis defeated Jeganathan Srinivasan, 7-5, 6-0, in the second singles flight. Brondeau cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Skyler Davis in the third, while Kessler won his fifth-flight match, 7-6 (9), 6-1, over Xabier Saavedra.

Saint Joseph's is back in action on Sunday with a home match against NJIT.
