BALA CYNWYD, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team won five of six singles flights on Saturday evening to earn a 6-1 win over Saint Louis at the Riverside Fitness Center.
Saint Joseph's (5-2) jumped out to an early lead with a pair of 8-2 wins in the second and third doubles flights. Freshman Peter Dewitt and junior Renier Moolman team up for the win in the second flight, while seniors Pierre Brondeau and Mike Fallone were winners in the third.
Moolman then won his first-flight match before Saint Louis (2-6) earned its lone point in the second. Sophomore Kyle Chalmers took the win in the third flight, junior Andres Urrea cruised in the fourth, sophomore Tristan Boustany earned a result in the fifth, and junior Kevin Gates finished off the strong performance with a win in the sixth.
Saint Joseph's will head outdoors for the first time this spring with a match against Chestnut Hill on Monday at the SJU Tennis Complex.
