BALA CYNWYD, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team fell to George Mason on Friday afternoon, going down by a 4-2 score in match that was moved to the Riverside Fitness Center due to inclement weather.
George Mason rallied to win the doubles point after the Hawks had taken an early edge. Pierre Brondeau and Mike Fallone earned an 8-4 win in the third flight, but the Patriots finished off 8-6 and 8-4 wins in the first and second flights, respectively, to take a 1-0 lead.
Saint Joseph's drew level as Tristany Boustany cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 win in the fifth singles flight. The Patriots and Hawks then traded points, as GMU won the fourth flight and Kyle Chalmers pulled out 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 result in the third.
Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, George Mason notched victories in the top two singles flights, including a three-setter at number-one, to clinch the result.
