LORTON, Va. - The Saint Joseph's golf team tied for 14th and junior Tyler Sokolis finished in a tie for 33rd place to lead the Hawks at the Patriot Intercollegiate.
Playing at the Laurel Hills Golf Course (par 68/6,897 yards), the Hawks posted scores of 300 and 299 on Monday to finish with a three-round score of 296-300-299/895. Old Dominion captured the team title by two strokes at 849.
Individually, Sokolis shot 72 and 77 on Monday for a three-round score of 73-72-77/222. Senior Drew Taylor tied for 39th a stroke behind Sokolis with a score of 74-74-75, while freshman Michael O'Brien and sophomore Ross Pilliod finished tied for 53rd at 74-78-74/226 and 75-77-74/226, respectively. Freshman Reed Winkler rounded out the five-man squad tying for 85th with a score of 78-77-76/231.
Erik Lindwall of Eastern Kentucky captured medalist honors at 207 (-6).
Saint Joseph's returns to action October 17 at the Georgetown Hoya Intercollegiate.
