PHILADELPHIA ? The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday after the Hawks fell to Drexel, 4-3, at Vidas Courts.

The Dragons took the doubles point to grab an early lead.? Senior Kyle Chalmers and sophomore Tim Stierle came away with a 6-3 win in the first flight, but Drexel secured wins in the second and third to go ahead in the match.

After a Drexel win in the third flight, Stierle took a straight-sets win in the second to get the Hawks back within one.? Unfortunately for SJU, the Dragons earned a win in the fifth flight before a three-set first-flight tilt went the way of the hosts and secured the overall result.

Freshman Beekman Schaeffer and junior Peter Dewitt finished the afternoon off on a positive note for the Hawks, however, as Schaeffer notched a 6-2, 6-7 (3), 6-0 win in the fourth flight, while Dewitt rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 win in the sixth.

Saint Joseph's has a full weekend of matches ahead, as the Hawks will host Fordham, Saint Francis (Pa.), and Dayton at the SJU Tennis Complex.
