Men's Tennis Tops Lafayette, 6-1

Nickolas Frisk earned two wins, including the clinching point, on Saturday
MEDIA, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis squad used a full team effort to dispatch Lafayette, 6-1, at Springton Tennis Club on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (4-1) cruised to the early lead via wins in all three doubles flights.  The Hawks dropped just three games en route to claiming the first point of the match.

• Francesco Mowrey rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the third flight to extend the lead before Nathan Perrone's 6-4, 6-2 decision in the first flight brought the Hawks to the brink of victory.

• Nickolas Frisk clinched it for SJU, winning his second-flight match, 6-4, 6-1.

• Luis Janko went on to win his fourth-flight match in a tiebreaker, 1-6, 6-2, 10-7, while Jack Campbell claimed his first career dual match win with a 6-3, 6-1 trumph in the sixth flight.

HAWK TALK
"It was an excellent performance from the team; they all had a very clear picture of the way they had to perform and what to do," assistant coach Marc Pibernat said.  "Everyone was on the same page, and the team looked solid.  In doubles, it was probably our best performance so far this season.  In singles, everyone had a good match and we were very competitive and playing good tennis on every line.

"The special mention goes to the whole team today, but especially to Jack Campbell, who played in his first official dual match as a freshman and brought in a win for the team.  Jack works extremely hard every day and always has the right attitude, and his opportunity and win are so well-deserved!"

UP NEXT
The Hawks will visit Bucknell on February 29.
