PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the Hawks fell to Johns Hopkins, 13-10, at Sweeney Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (4-3) took the early lead, and Lauren FIgura and
Sam McGee scored inside the opening three minutes to stake the Hawks to a 2-0 lead. The teams traded goals over the next six minutes, with McGee and
Taylor Newman-Farr tallying to give SJU a 4-2 lead with just over 20 minutes to go in the first half
• Johns Hopkins (4-3) answered with a four-goal spurt over a 10-minute stretch, taking a lead the Blue Jays would not relinquish at 6-4.
• McGee bagged her third of the day before the visitors scored again to send the game into the break at 7-5.
• Figura,
Stephanie Kelly, and
Kaela Smith all scored in the opening eight minutes of the second half, but the Blue Jays had an answer each time the Hawks got back within one. Two in a row by Mackenzie Heldberg put JHU ahead, 11-8, with 12:31 to play.

Bridget Cerciello got the Hawks back within two before Heldberg scored again.Â
Laura Lasprogata scored on a free position attempt with 7:52 to play, but Claire Mills converted a free position of her own with 2:21 to go to seal the game for the visitors.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• McGee led the Hawks with three goals, while Figura tallied a pair of her own. Heldberg led all scorers with four goals, while Aurora Cordingley and Shelby Harrison scored three apiece for the Blue Jays. Cordingley and Heldberg each netted a game-high five points.

Mikala Davis got the start between the pipes once again, making 13 saves for the Hawks, while Kathleen Garvey made 12 for Johns Hopkins.
• Figura led SJU with three ground balls, while Newman-Farr caused a game-high three turnovers on the day.Â
Lindsey Smith led all players with six draw controls, while Cerciello scooped up five as the Hawks enjoyed a 17-8 advantage in draws on the day. Each team recorded 33 shots.
