MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to Temple, 6-1, at the SJU Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman
Fabiana Tort-Umpierre earned a singles point for the Hawks in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The teams played singles matches first, and Temple (6-1) got the upper hand with wins in all but the third flight. Tort-Umpierre came away with a win at number three, coming back from a set down for a 1-6, 7-5, 10-7 win in a supertiebreaker.
• The Owls claimed the doubles point, but Saint Joseph's (3-3) earned a win in the top flight, as
Amanda Nava and
Stow Weiss notched a 7-5 victory.
