FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team earned a pair of singles victories but ultimately fell to George Mason, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks picked up a win in the top doubles flight, with Amanda Nava and Stow Weiss grabbing a 6-4 decision, but the Patriots claimed flights two and three to get the first point on the board.

• Weiss battled back from a set down to take the second singles flight, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, while Fabiana Tort-Umpierre was a 6-4, 6-4 winner in the third, but the hosts won the remaining singles flights to clinch the match.

HAWK TALK
"A good, hard-fought battle against another middle-of-the-pack conference foe," head coach Ian Crookenden said.  "A steady performance after the emotion of yesterday's contest, and again, we are getting stronger in doubles.  Another stiff battle tomorrow will round out this conference match series."
