ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team continued its stay at the U.S. Naval Academy's Joe Hunt Invitational on Saturday, as all six Hawks at the tournament took part in singles play.
Nathan Perrone advanced to the final of the Blue Singles draw as he grabbed a pair of wins, topping James Wilkinson of Delaware, 7-6 (3), 6-2, before outlasting Mary Washington's Moses Hutchison in a supertiebreaker, 6-1, 4-6, 10-4.
Elsewhere,
Nassim Fenjiro picked up a singles win over Mary Washington's Artis Hart before teaming up with
Alex MacNeil for a doubles win over Hart and Peter Leese.
"The guys fought in every match and played good tennis yesterday and today," assistant coach
Marc Pibernat said. "A shoutout to Nate, who won two big battles today and will play the final tomorrow. Nicko [Frisk] played at a very high level of tennis and has been competing very well. The guys are pretty beat up from playing multiple matches these past two days; overall, I am very pleased with everyone with the way they are competing during this tournament."
The event concludes at the Naval Academy on Sunday.
