Six of the seven USciences teams eligible for the 2020-21 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Team GPA Award in their respective sport landed the prestige academic honor, it was recently announced by the league office.
The six winners were double the amount of any other institution in the conference, and were nearly half of the 14 handed out, despite USciences only being eligible for seven and not offering men's and women's lacrosse and soccer.
Only teams that competed during the 2020-21 season were eligible for the award, eliminating men's and women's basketball and volleyball from contention, while there was no winner for men's and women's cross country due to the league season being cancelled.
All six USciences teams to receive the award had at least a 3.38 Team GPA for the 2020-21 academic year, led by men's tennis' 3.791, which was the second-highest amongst the 14 winners.
Softball's 3.707 was the fourth-highest, while women's track & field's 3.692 was fifth and men's track & field's 3.592 was also in the top-half of the 14 winners.
The two other University of the Sciences teams to receive the award were golf and baseball, who had respective team GPAs of 3.566 and 3.386.
