CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Freshman
Inigo Diaz won a pair of singles matches as the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team opened play at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships at the University of Virginia on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Diaz had an outstanding performance in the Bronze singles draw on Wednesday as he advanced to the Round of 16 with a pair of victories. He will play for a spot in the Silver Draw on Thursday.
•
Nassim Fenjiro and
Justus Agbo played their opening matches as well, with Fenjiro falling in three sets and Agbo going down in two. Each moves on to Thursday's consolation round.
• On the doubles side, Diaz and Fenjiro fell in their opening match. Agbo and
Alejandro Vedri were elevated into the Silver Draw as alternates, and will play their first doubles match on Friday.
UP NEXT
Play continues on Thursday. Vedri, who received a bye into the Silver Draw, will see his first action on tomorrow's slate.
