Concordia Dazzles in Net as Women’s Lacrosse Defeats Navy, 10-9

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Transfer goalkeeper Jorden Concordia posted a career best 18 saves Friday evening as Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse defeats RV Navy on the road, 10-9. The Webster, N.Y. native posted a 66.7 save percentage on 27 shots faced.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Mids jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first period of play. Lisa Ross tallied the lone goal for the Hawks with an assist from Lauren Figura.
  • St. Joe's answered with a 4-0 second quarter. Figura notched three of the goals for SJU with Rilea Fusco adding the fourth. Concordia pitched a shutout in the frame with four saves to keep the Hawks up 5-4.
  • Saint Joseph's continued to add to its lead in the third stanza with a 3-2 scoring advantage. Navy took two of the first three scores before Ross finished with the final two goals to put SJU up, 8-6.
  • Navy tried to rally in the fourth but fell short with a 3-2 scoring differential.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Navy outshot the Hawks 38-30 and won the turnover battle (+4) and draw control margin (+6).
  • Figura and Ross finished with a game high four points. Both tallied three goals and one assist.
  • Foster finished with a pair of goals with Fusco and Riley Evans adding one apiece.
UP NEXT:
St. Joe's host Villanova on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. first draw.
