Softball Tripped Up At UMass, 3-0

AMHERST, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's softball team fell at UMass, 3-0, on Sunday in the series finale at Sortino Field.

How It Happened 
• In a pitcher's duel between the Hawks' Emily Siler and UMass' Jessie DiPasquale, the Minutewomen struck for the game's only runs in the bottom of the sixth.
• A RBI single by Kendra Allen made it 1-0.
• A sacrifice fly by Jules Shields scored Amy Smith from third to make it 2-0.
• Giana Wameling scored the final run on a wild pitch.
• Saint Joseph's rallied to load the bases in the top of the seventh, but DiPasquale worked out of the jam to end the contest.


Inside The Boxscore 
• Siler, who held UMass hitless through five innings, moved to 9-11 on the season as she allowed three earned runs on three hits, while striking out three.
• Kaelin Cash was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.
