MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team met its second tough Atlantic 10 foe in as many matches on Sunday, falling to Rhose Island, 4-0, at the SJU Tennis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Due to weather conditions that interrupted play, only singles matches were contested. The Rams claimed victories in all four completed flights, but in the top flight, AManda Nava won the first set prior to the halting of play, while
Sophia Amato led in the second set of her fifth-flight match.
HAWK TALK
"A much better fight against conference opponent Rhode Island," head coach
Ian Crookenden said. "Due to the weather conditions, singles were played first to a clinch decision. The Rams are very steady opponents, but good fighting from the Hawks despite the interrupting showers. Next up is local rival Villanova, weather permitting."
UP NEXT
The Hawks are slated to host Villanova on Tuesday.
