MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team saw its six-match winning streak come to an end as Delaware came away with a 4-3 win at the SJU Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (8-3) earned a clean sweep of the doubles flights, winning all three by identical 6-3 scores to take the early lead.

• Delaware (10-8) drew level with a sixth-flight singles win, but Nathan Perrone put the Hawks back in front with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 win in the top flight.

• Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Blue Hens took the next three matches to finish and claimed the overall victory.

Alp Sentay earned a late win for the Hawks, topping his third-flight opponent, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

HAWK TALK
"I take full responsibility for this loss; I made a change to the lineup that I should have never made," head coach Marc Pibernat said.  "We played very good doubles, winning all three flights, but yet again, and that's now two matches in a row, we struggled big time at the back of the lineup.  We have an incredible top three players at one, two, and three, but they cannot always win, especially playing against the better opponents of the opposing team.  These matches are played at the back of the lineup, and if we are not strong there where we find wins, it will be very difficult to get to four points against tough teams.  A disappointing result for sure because today it was a very winnable match against a very good team."
