MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to George Mason, 4-1, at the SJU Tennis Complex on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• George Mason took the early lead with wins in the second and third doubles flights.  Amanda Nava and Stow Weiss were level for the Hawks in the first at 6-6 when play was halted.
 
• Ireland Amato was a straight-sets winner in the sixth flight, but the Patriots won the third, fourth, and fifth singles flights to clinch the match.
 
HAWK TALK
"Another good fight with an unfortunate result," head coach Ian Crookenden said.  "It was a close doubles point, with a clinch finish due to weather conditions which created a late start.  Then due to a rain delay during the singles matches, our top two positions were unable to complete their comebacks.  I am very proud of the fight and attitude of the team."
