Women's Rowing Posts Strong Showing At Navy Day Regatta

The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team opened its fall schedule at the Navy Day Regatta on Sunday on the Schuylkill River.

How It Happened
• The Hawks raced seven boats on the day with three taking part in the Pairs event, one in the Varsity 8, one in the Novice 8, one in the Varsity 4 and another in the Novice 4.
• In the Pairs event, Saint Joseph's boat of Riley McDade and Evie Holder placed first in a time of 16:39.45, while Hannah Ashcraft and Farah Konschak finished second in 17:54.93, and sisters Kayla Menshon and Kelsey Menshon placed fourth in 19:02.91.
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 8 of c-Kacie Kershaw, 8-Riley McDade, 7-Evie Holder, 6-Kayla Menshon, 5-Hannah Ashcraft, 4-Farah Konschak, 3-Allison Ruck, 2-Emma Staples, 1-Kelsey Menshon placed 13th in the 26-boat field in a time of 14:27.13.
• In the Novice 8 event, the Hawks' boat of c-Marlana Gramo, 8-Avery Simon, 7-Ella Pittenger, 6-Maeve Bills, 5-Claire Gallagher, 4-Molly Allen, 3-Takoda Wells, 2-Paige Foley, 1-Carolyn Osborn finished fifth with a time of 17:00.45.
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 4 squad of c-Natalie Blouin, 4-Molly Hoffman, 3-Michaela Mulkerrins, 2-Katie Schmidt, 1-Emma Staples placed seventh in the 36-team field with a time of 16:01.60.
• In the Novice 4 event, Saint Joseph's c-Cecilia Sarnowski, 4-Kate McAvaddy, 3-Olivia Graveley, 2-Tara Erdem, 1-Shannon Travers finished fourth in a time of 17:50.54.
