WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team returned to action in style on Monday afternoon, shutting out Howard, 4-0, at the Banneker Recreation Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's got on the board first via a sweep of the doubles point.  Justus Agbo and Nassim Fenjiro rolled to a 6-1 win in the second flight before Eli Gan-Dy and Oscar Serra won their third-flight match, 7-5, to clinch the point.  Inigo Diaz and Alejandro Vedri finished off the sweep with a 7-6 (4) win in the first flight.
 
• Serra earned the first singles point, winning at love in the fifth flight, before Gan-Dy cruised to a straight-sets win in the sixth.
 
• Diaz clinched the overall match victory with his win in the third flight; Agbo was a game away from a win in the second flight when play was halted as well.

HAWK TALK
"It feels good to get back on the winning track again," head coach Marc Pibernat said.  "It was a long day for us, due to the rain delays we had, which took some energy out of some guys when it was time to go back and play.  But that should not be an excuse and the energy and willingness to play hard should always be there no matter what.  A special mention to Eli for winning his first doubles and singles dual matches as a Hawk.  Go Hawks!"
