EASTON, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team posted its second consecutive victory, topping Lafayette by a 6-1 score on Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks got off to a strong start with wins in the first and second doubles flights.
Inigo Diaz and
Alejandro Vedri claiming a 6-2 win in the first before
Justus Agbo and
Nassim Fenjiro won by the same score in the second to clinch the point.
• In singles play, Diaz ran out to a quick win in the third flight to double the advantage.
Oscar Serra won in straight sets in the fifth flight before Fenjiro rolled in the fourth to earn the clinching point.
• Vedri would eventually go on to win his first-flight match as well, while
Eli Gan-Dy won in the sixth to finish off the scoring.
HAWK TALK
"Overall, it was a good win that will give us some confidence to face the last stretch of the season," head coach
Marc Pibernat said. "Conditions were not ideal, with the wind picking up as the match was developing, but the guys were able to remain focused and get the job done. Go Hawks!"
