OLEAN, N.Y. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to St. Bonaventure, 4-3, at the SBU Fitness Center on Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Bonaventure (7-8) grabbed the early lead with a pair of doubles wins.  In the third flight, however, Ireland Amato and Sophia Amato came away with a 7-6 (5) victory.
 
• Saint Joseph's (3-2) earned victories in the top two singles flights, as Stow Weiss won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, in the first and Anna Kirk claimed a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (2) win in the second.
 
• Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Bonnies won the third, fourth, and fifth flights to secure the overall victory.
 
• Ireland Amato took a point for the Hawks in the sixth flight, rolling to a 6-2, 6-0 win.
 
HAWK TALK
"A very tough match under the favored indoor conditions," head coach Ian Crookenden said.  "We lost the doubles by one point in the tiebreaker in flight number one, and then it was a real battle for the singles points.  We had excellent play from Stow and Anna and a tremendous battle from Charlotte.  Ireland played her usual steady, 'break down the opponent' game as well."

The Hawks return to outdoor play on Saturday when they host Marist at the SJU Tennis Complex.
