VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 result at Villanova on Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks won the doubles point, with
Justus Agbo and
Nassim Fenjiro taking their third-flight match before
Inigo Diaz and
Alejandro Vedri clinched the point with a win in the first.
• Diaz would win in the third flight when his opponent retired before Vedri finished off a straight-sets win in the first.
• Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Wildcats won the remaining four flights to secure the overall match victory.
HAWK TALK
"A disappointing loss today," head coach
Marc Pibernat. "After winning the doubles point we came up short in singles, only winning two out of six matches. I feel that this team has so much to prove to themselves because every time the match comes down to the wire this year, we end up biting the dust. We need to do a much better job of having everyone on when it is game time in singles and doubles. There's always someone who doesn't come ready to play and we are paying a very high price, just like it happened again today."
