Matt Zerfass led the charge for the Hawks' golf team during the opening round of the ABARTA Collegiate Invitational on Sunday as the freshman shot two-under-par 70 and is tied for eighth place.

Christian Matt shot 76 (+4) and is tied for 58th place.

Jake Avery posted a score of 78 (+6) and is tied for 73rd.

J.T. Spina and
Ryan Gorman rounded out the team as each fired 80 (+8) on the day and are tied for 89th.
• As a team, Saint Joseph's is tied for 13th after a combined round of 304 (+16).
• Lehigh holds the team lead by three strokes at 279 (-9).
• Fairfield's Killian McGinley leads all individual golfers by two strokes at 66 (-6).
• The ABARTA Collegiate Invitational is being held at the par 72, 6,675-yard Northampton Country Club.
