WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team concluded its regular season spring slate on Sunday, falling to George Washington by a 6-1 score at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• George Washington earned a sweep of the doubles flights to take the early lead in the match.
• The Colonials then notched victories in the first five singles flights to clinch the match victory.

Ireland Amato earned a point for the Hawks with a win in the sixth flight, rallying for a 2-6, 6-3, 10-4 win in a supertiebreaker.

Stow Weiss and
Emily Elliott also notched set victories in the first and fourth flights, respectively.

"It was a very well-fought contest," head coach
Ian Crookenden said. "I am very proud of our performance across the board. Everyone fought hard until the last point was finished. I could ask for more from this group of student-athletes; a very impressive spring record."
UP NEXT
The Hawks will head to Orlando, Florida, for the Atlantic 10 Women's Championship, which kicks off on Thursday at the USTA National Campus.
