ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team saw its 2023 campaign come to an end on Thursday morning as the 13th-seeded Hawks fell to fourth-seeded Richmond, 4-0, in the First Round of the Atlantic 10 Championship at the USTA National Campus.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Richmond took the early lead via the doubles point.  Emily Elliott and Fabiana Tort-Umpierre were locked in a tight battle, trailing 5-4 in the second flight, when play was halted.

• The Spiders then secured the overall victory with wins in the bottom three singles flights.

• Both Stow Weiss and Tort-Umpierre were leading or level in their respective singles matches when play was stopped.  Weiss had won the first set of her top-flight match while Tort-Umpierre won her first set and was headed to a third at the cessation of play.
