Coach's Corner
"It was an honor to be part of a great day of competition and celebrations at the Gillin Boathouse. There were exciting battles on the water in the Bergen and Kelly Cup races and there was a huge turnout for our Hall of Fame inductions and the shell dedication in memory of Paul Laskow '70. The rowing community in Philadelphia is incredibly unique. No amount of rain could dampen the warmth and joy of having our student-athletes spend time with alumni, family and friends.," said head coach Mike Irwin. "The month of May is Championship season for collegiate rowing. We have two weeks to get ready for the Dad Vail Regatta and the newly formed Atlantic Sprints Regatta. It is going to be a whirlwind final stretch combined with exams but we have been preparing for this time all year and we are excited for the challenge ahead!"

Of Note
As part of the day of racing and celebration, the Hawks inducted two boats into the SJU Rowing Hall of Fame. The men's 1970 Dad Vail Champion Varsity 8 and the 1970 Dad Vail Champion Varsity 4 were inducted as boats, while St. Joe's also dedicated its varsity racing shell in honor of the late Paul J. Laskow '70.
