NEWARK, Del. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 result at Delaware on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Delaware took the early lead through the doubles point by clinching wins in the second and third flights.  Inigo Diaz and Alejandro Vedri were level at 5-5 in the first flight when play was halted.

• The Blue Hens would claim five of the six singles flights to secure the overall match victory.  Vedri would earn the lone point for the Hawks, cruising to a 6-4, 6-1 win in the first flight.

HAWK TALK
"Definitely not a good day at all for us, except for Alejandro, who won a very good match at flight one and played a very good doubles match with Inigo," head coach Marc Pibernat said.  "Against teams like Delaware, if we don't have the belief that we can beat them, we will not stand a chance to win.  We must bounce back from this because the most important part of the season is around the corner.  I hope we learn from today's loss.  Go Hawks!"

UP NEXT
The Hawks will host NJIT at the SJU Tennis Complex on Saturday.
