The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team's Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 competed at the Murphy Cup on Saturday on the Schuylkill River.

How It Happened
• In the morning's heats, the Hawks Varsity 8 placed second in their race in a time of 5:56.85, while the Second Varsity 8 crossed the finish line in 6:06.96 as both boats advanced to the Grand Final.
• In the Varsity 8 Grand Final, Saint Joseph's boat of C David Knapp, 8 Nick Coppola, 7 Thomas Rigali, 6 Diego Veiga de Roovere, 5 Andrew Skakal, 4 Eamon Coyne, 3 Cameron McNeill, 2 Patrick Miklus, 1 Rob Dougherty bested its time from earlier in the day, completing the course in 5:51.18 to finish third.
• St. Joe's Second Varsity 8 of C Ryan Flaherty, 8 Adam Sanin, 7 Kevin O'Sullivan, 6 Rodrigo Miranda, 5 Jacob Vucinaj, 4 Peyton Lewis, 3 Dennis Dougherty, 2 Simon Sheppard, 1 Zach Bell had a strong showing it its Grand Final as the Hawks placed fourth in a time of 6:13.05.
