AMHERST, Mass. – Despite leading a pair of matches when play was halted on Saturday, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell at UMass, 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UMass earned wins in all three doubles flights to grab the first point of the day.

• The Minutewomen would then claim wins in the first, third, and fourth singles flights to clinch the overall match victory.

• Charlotte Kordonowy and Emily Elliott were both on the brink of wins in their singles flights when play was halted.  Kordonowy held a 7-5, 5-4 lead in the second, while Elliott was on top, 6-3, 0-6, 5-3 in the fifth.

HAWK TALK
"A very good match, though the clinch score doesn't make it appear so," head coach Ian Crookenden said.  "A nervous doubles start, but really good competitive singles down the line.  The quality of play in the singles matches was outstanding and every position was hard-fought.  I am extremely proud of the Hawk spirit."

UP NEXT
The Hawks visit Rhode Island on Sunday.
