Men's Rowing Advances Three Boats To Grand Finals At 2023 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team will compete for gold in three events on Saturday as the Hawks' Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8 and 3rd Varsity 8 advanced to their respective Grand Finals in the first day of racing at the 2023 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River on Friday.

• Saint Joseph's 3rd Varsity 8 of C- Quinn Burns, 8- Rodrigo Miranda, 7- Aaron Tully, 6- Jack Barausky, 5- Cameron McNeill, 4- Brady King, 3- Nicolas Leon, 2- Simon Sheppard, 1- Ryan Trebel opened the morning's heats with the third-best time of 5:50.756 to earn a spot in the Grand Final on Saturday at 2:10 p.m.
• In the 2nd Varsity 8 heats, the Hawks' boat of C- Ryan Flaherty, 8- Adam Sanin, 7- Kevin O'Sullivan, 6- Air Dunkley, 5- Jacob Vucinaj, 4- Eamon Coyne, 3- Rob Dougherty, 2- Peyton Lewis, 1- Dennis Dougherty placed fourth overall in a time of 5:46.336 to advance to the afternoon's semifinals.
• With the top three boats advancing to the 2nd Varsity Grand Final, St. Joe's placed third in a time of 6:06.239 to move on and compete for the Ernie Bayer Trophy at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday.
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 8 of C- David Knapp, 8- Ed Lemanowicz, 7- William Altier, 6- Diego Veiga de Roovere, 5- Andrew Skakal, 4- Patrick Miklus, 3- Tom Scherer, 2- Nick Coppola, 1- Thomas Rigali started the day by completing the course in 5:28.807 in its heat to advance to the semifinals.
• In a highly-competitive race, the Hawks' Varsity 8 crossed the finish line in 5:53.745 to place second, advancong to Saturday's Grand Final and compete for Richard O'Brien Trophy at 5 p.m.
