PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team's 3rd Varsity 8 earned bronze to highlight the Hawks' final day of competition at the 2023 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River on Saturday.

• Opening the Hawks' afternoon of racing, Saint Joseph's 3rd Varsity 8 of C- Quinn Burns, 8- Rodrigo Miranda, 7- Aaron Tully, 6- Jack Barausky, 5- Cameron McNeill, 4- Brady King, 3- Nicolas Leon, 2- Simon Sheppard, 1- Ryan Trebel completed the course in 6:06.712 to place third in its Grand Final and earn bronze.
• In a highly-competitive Varsity 8 Grand Final, Saint Joseph's boat of C- David Knapp, 8- Ed Lemanowicz, 7- William Altier, 6- Diego Veiga de Roovere, 5- Andrew Skakal, 4- Patrick Miklus, 3- Tom Scherer, 2- Nick Coppola, 1- Thomas Rigali crossed the finish line in 5:54.365 for fifth place.
• In the 2nd Varsity Grand Final, the Hawks' boat of C- Ryan Flaherty, 8- Adam Sanin, 7- Kevin O'Sullivan, 6- Air Dunkley, 5- Jacob Vucinaj, 4- Eamon Coyne, 3- Rob Dougherty, 2- Peyton Lewis, 1- Dennis Dougherty placed fifth in a time of 6:00.366.

Coach's Corner
"I am really proud of how resilient our squad was this spring season. We kept closing the gap on results from earlier in the year and had athletes in each boat work extremely hard to get back to the starting line after missing races in March and April," said head coach Mike Irwin. "It was a long couple of days in the heat and it did feel a bit different having the Dad Vail in Camden, New Jersey. Placing all three boats in the grand finals again this year was significant and we love bringing home medals! We might be a bit tired, but we are excited to be part of the Atlantic Sprints down in Virginia on Sunday!"
