PHILADELPHIA – Singles play began on Thursday at the ITA Northeast Regional Women's Tennis Championships on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
 
Freshman Claudia Perez-Garcia was in action for the Hawks in the singles qualifying draw, falling in her opening match before dropping a consolation tilt.
