Gisele Tang combined for a win in the opening round of their doubles competition to lead the Hawks.
The pair earned a win over Sasha Motlagh and Maya Urata from Penn via an 8-5 score.
Claudia Perez-Garcia and
Victoria Tracey were in action as well, falling in their opening tilt to a pair from Princeton.
In singles play, Tracey took on an opponent from Fairleigh Dickinson, falling in the opening round.
The event continues on Saturday.
