PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's Evie Holder and Emma Staples earned gold in the Open Pair event of the Navy Day Regatta as the Hawks' women's rowing team opened its fall schedule on Sunday on the Schuylkill River.

How It Happened
• The Hawks opened the Navy Day Regatta in the Open Pairs in the morning with two boats - Holder and Staples, and Farah Konschak and Molly Hoffman - representing the Crimson and Gray.
• Holder and Staples completed the course in 17:52.74 to win the event, while Konschak and Hoffman placed second in a time of 18:41.80.
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 4 placed ninth in its event as the Hawks crossed the finish line in a time of 16:33.65.
• St. Joe's 2nd Varsity 8 posted a time of 17:59.39 to place 12th in its event.
• The Hawks' Novice 8 placed second in its event as St. Joe's navigated the course in 17:10.10.
• Capping the day in the Varsity 8 Final, Saint Joseph's finished 13th in the 26-boat event with a time of 16:12.62.
