Women's Rowing Opens 2024 With Strong Victories Over Delaware

The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team opened its spring schedule with a strong showing against Delaware on Saturday as the Hawks' Varsity 8 and 3rd Varsity 8 picked up victories on the day.

How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's 3rd Varsity 8 of c-Marlana Gramo, 8-Tara Erdem, 7-Michaela Mulkerrins, 6-Emily Hruska, 5-Takoda Wells, 4-Carolyn Osborne, 3-Maeve Bills, 2-Paige Foley, 1-Claire Gallagher opened the day with a tightly-contested race against the Blue Hens, but the Hawks managed to keep a few seats ahead, earning the victory in 7:05.3.

• The Hawks' Varsity 8 battled the entire 2,000-meter course, as  c-Kacie Kershaw, 8-Riley McDade, 7-Evie Holder, 6-Farah Konschak, 5-Kelsey Menshon, 4-Kayla Menshon, 3-Hannah Ashcraft, 2-Emma Staples, 1-Allison Ruck pulled away for the win in the final 500 meters in a time of 6:31.4.

• Saint Joseph's 2nd Varsity 8 put up a strong effort, crossing the line in 6:55.3, while the Hawks' Varsity 4 placed second in its race with a time of 7:34.8.
