Men’s Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Day With Rout Over St. Bonaventure

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with fireworks, dominating St. Bonaventure in a 24-3 win to extend the win streak to nine games on Saturday afternoon inside Sweeney Field.

The Hawks scored early and often, continuing their win streak to push to 9-3 on the year and 4-0 in Atlantic 10 action. St. Bonaventure falls to 1-10 and 0-4 in Atlantic 10 play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A first quarter frenzy saw the Hawks score early and often, Levi Anderson getting the Hawks on the board in the first three minutes.
  • Carter Page doubled the tally with his only goal of the day, moving his goal-scoring streak to 39 games.
  • Toron Eccleston started a span of six goals in the span of six and a half minutes with eight minutes to play.
  • Colin Reich and Matt Bohmer each added tallies before William King's first goal of the season put the Hawks up 6-0.
  • Anderson's second goal of the day was followed by a strike from Mark Watters to give St. Joe's an 8-0 lead after the first frame.
  • Anderson turned provider to start the second quarter, finding Bohmer from behind the net cutting towards the crease as the Charlotte, N.C. native made no mistake to bury it home.
  • Bohmer continued a 3-0 personal run to start the quarter with a missile past the helmet of the Bonnies goalkeeper before Patrick Clemens picked off a pass on the 10-man ride and fed Bohmer for a quick finish to secure his fourth tally of the day.
  • King used a pair of spin moves to find space to send home his second strike of the game.
  • After the St. Bonaventure keeper made a save and looked to start the clear, Jesse Jason pickpocketed the goalkeeper's pass and tossed into an open net.
  • Watters dodged a pair of defenders before finding Griffin Mallory, who lasered his attempt home with 12 seconds remaining in the half to put St. Joe's up 14-0 at the break.
  • Danny Gaalaas was left wide open after a face-off win to start the third period, winding up and finding the netting just 14 seconds into the half.
  • Casey Herod's first goal of the game extended the advantage to 16-0 before St. Bonaventure was able to break a 37-minute goal drought to start the game to get on the board.
  • The Hawks answered right back, as Harrison Oehler helped lead a transition after a Bonnies turnover. With no one stepping up to the defenseman, Oehler launched a strike into the netting for his first career goal.
  • Colin Zyck found room down the alley to fire home for his first goal of the season, before Casey Herod added his second of the day with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter.
  • Gavin Harmon was the beneficiary of a clever feed from Liam Ferris as the senior slipped through near the crease and quickly fired home. His play was rewarded as Conor Trant won the ensuing face-off before racing down and finding Harmon again for his second goal in six seconds.
  • With the possession clock expiring, Collin Campbell fired a desperation effort that slipped through crosses near the crease, leaving the goalkeeper fooled to push the lead to 22-1 with 15 minutes to play.
  • Ferris scored his first goal in style, soaring into the air near the crease to fully extend and grab a Harmon pass over the top of the defense, dunking it into the net on his way to the ground. Like Harmon, Ferris immediately received a feed from Trant after the face-off and scored his second goal in six seconds.
  • With the Hawks looking to run the clock, the Bonnies were able to strike twice in the final three minutes to add a pair of consolation goals to a 24-3 victory in favor of the Hawks.
